Stewardship

To cultivate the grace of giving we need to think carefully about all we receive from God, consider our priorities then prayerfully review our giving.

Our giving sustains our St Peter's Church building, it is a sacred place dedicated to worship, prayer and witness.

Our giving sustains our parish clergy across the Diocese of Liverpool and trains new clergy.

Our giving sustains parish ministry, measured by every ill person visited, every confirmation course run, every assembly taken, every bereaved family comforted, every baptism celebrated, every sermon preached, Eucharist celebrated and person shown the love of Christ through our care, comfort and compassion.

Our giving sustains mission both here in this Diocese of Liverpool and overseas for people we will never meet but to whom we are able to give practical support through our ministry of giving.

Our Challenge is to raise enough money each year to maintain our mission. In order to do this we participate in a planned regular giving scheme known as the Parish Giving Scheme. This scheme ensures that we benefit from Gift Aid on all appropriate donations.

Legacies

Encouraging Legacy Giving Video

The video shown below has been produced by The Diocese of Liverpool to illustrate how St Peter's are encouraging members of the church to think about making a will and legacy giving.

Encouraging Legacy Giving Seminar

In 2008 over 100,000 bequests were made in wills in a market that is worth £2billion a year. Yet, despite Christians having a very committed attitude to giving during their lifetime this doesn't translate to our legacy and will giving.

At a recent seminar organised by The Diocese of Liverpool to encourage legacy giving, John Smith and Andrew Greenyer from St Peter's discussed the process that St Peter's had followed in the development of it's legacy policy and information leaflet.
